Urgent Help and Information
If you, or someone you know, are in a mental health crisis there are people who can help you. Lifecraft’s Need Help Now page includes contact details for support and information in a mental health crisis.
People who hear distressing voices have found many different ways to help them cope with and manage their difficulties. Some are more effective than others, and you may have found some strategies that work well for you. For example, the Voices Matter group in Cambridge has discussed coping strategies and found this worksheet, written by Manchester Hearing Voices, to be very useful. It may also help people who see visions or have tactile sensations. It might give you ways of coping that you have not tried before. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to coping with voices, so it is important to persist until you find ways of coping that work for you.
